Job Search SUCCESS using Sales methodology - Coffee and a chat with Dave...

Effective Job Search - How to successfully use sales methodology in job search? | Coffee and a chat with Dave Ep 4

How to successfully utilise sales methodology in job search?

In todays episode of Coffee and a Chat with Dave, we are talking about how to use the principles of the oldest profession known to human kind in job search.

What sales and job search have in common?

How to use sales principles to Land a job?

I will share with you a chart that will be your guide to perfecting your sales pitch and cover letter and help you compile YOU statements.
WHO are you and WHY You?

WHAT can YOU do to add value to my Company?
WHY do YOU and WHAT is special about you?
Why is it a problem, Whats in it for me and HOW can you fix it?
Point of Difference

In the middle of every WHY, WHAT and WHO stands a significant common denominator: HOW.
Selling goods / products that add significant and visible value to a business is in much easier task than selling services.
When you are looking for job, you are in fact selling your services.

Offering, and selling Services is the most difficult job in the sales world - It takes a lot more convincing effort.
You can’t see it, you can’t feel it and you can’t demonstrate the POD ( Point Of Difference ) on the spot.

How do you sell your services and what information you need to present to a potential client?

Once upon a time...
(Only a few years ago,)
the rules for landing a job were
Very simple:

Call a few friends or family members,
Spread the word within your network,
Find a job you have skills and experience to perform,
Polish your resume,
Send 4-5 applications,
Rehearse some standard Interview answers.

1 out of 5 applications…
You land a job…

Eventually...in rare occasions,
You might have to go
through the other channels
like Agencies and
Employment Services…

NOW...
It is much harder...
more complicated,
more competitive,
Sales based, agency dominated, unfair recruitment process.
Skills, Experience, Education and potential, used to be
very important!

Job search and sales share the same principle:
It's all about making your client or employer happy and
your expertise, credibility and what value do you bring to the table.
Your client/employer needs to know
Who are you and why are you their best option?
What can you do to solve their issues, make their problems go away - Fast and cheap.

Answers to interview questions or answers to your clients objections
must not be perfectly scripted as it falls into a trap of not being authentic.
However, your job application and/or sales pitch
is a must!
Follow the 20-80 Rule
Focus on the 20%
20% of your action, Should results in 80% of your success!

Common Sense Leadership, Happiness at work - Is there I in Team? Coffee ...

Common Sense Leadership, Happiness at work - Is there I in Team? Coffee and a chat with Dave - Ep.2

In todays episode of Coffee and a Chat with Dave, we are talking about Common Sense Leadership, Management, Happiness at work, Teamwork and a single most important factor affecting individual success and failure in a team environment:" I " in team work - persons' ability to adopt and work effectively with others.
Is there an "I" in team? Let's figure it out!
Table talk and Vlog segment about life, work, school, problems, issues...every day good, bad and ugly.

"Being present" in a team alone is not enough to be a good team member; you need strong " I " values to produce results on " I " level and be able to collaborate and strive to achieve the organisational objective with other members of your team.
The Workplace Happiness - comes from thinking of and helping others;
all the internal pain and suffering comes from thinking only of oneself.

A common workplace is a network of a cooperative and collaborative effort in order to achieve organisational common objectives - Business Growth & accomplishing the organisational vision and mission. To achieve business goals, adopt a simple but yet effective stand:
People work with people to serve people, rather than: "You work for me and you have to do what I ask you to do!".

Work stress can be greatly reduced simply by an intentional commitment to cultivating kindness, calmness and situational awareness and by letting mindfulness guide our actions and responses.

When you feel impatient with your work or colleagues, you might be resisting how things are and fighting the fact that you don't have total control - that's the signal that you need a collaborative approach.
Happiness comes when your work and words are of benefit to yourself and others. Take the time to appreciate and express support for someone else’s work or project.

Learn to regard work as an integral part of your growth and approach work as a way to elevate your purpose, rather than the means to survival.

Do you believe, that there is no " I " in Team?
Strong teams are the products of strong #leadership , clear organisational vision and powerful common goals.

A team capital - is a sum of how much a leader values, respects and appreciates all individuals and their qualities, traits, passion and the human element - bound and driven by the common cause, mutual benefits, common objectives and a shared vision.

#TEAMWORK Starts with " I " continues with " WE ":

I am an individual, a Human being, a person with feelings and values, skills and life experience - so is everybody on my team!

Strong team leaders align themselves with each individual and ensure that each team member values complement one another - there are no 2 the same individuals with an absolutely identical way of thinking, feeling and behaving.

It is leaders responsibility to assemble the best possible team and to give every member the methods, resources and means to shine as a part of a team and instil pride of being part of "WE".

Your team is the heart and soul of your operation but each individual in that team is the force, fuel and drive of that heart and soul with their unique abilities, skills, experiences and commitment to the common goals.

Do you still believe that there is no " I " in Team? #management
